Among all the day’s muhurats, alongside Choghadiya and Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat is considered the most auspicious and the most reliable.
When Abhijit Muhurat falls
It falls right around the middle of the day, near local noon, and lasts roughly 48 minutes. It’s calculated as the eighth muhurat out of the 15 that split the period between sunrise and sunset.
Why it’s considered so auspicious
Abhijit Muhurat is considered strong enough to override most doshas, which is why it’s treated as a reasonable time to begin something even when no other auspicious window is available.
One exception
Abhijit Muhurat isn’t counted on Wednesdays, that particular day is specifically excluded from it.
